Tarangire National Park

In the middle of the eastern branch of the Rift Valley, the Tarangire National Park is truly a majestic “meeting of giants in a perfect African landscape”, as defined by the National Parks Authority. In a landscape of wild beauty stand out huge and millennial baobab and one of the largest concentration of elephants of Tanzania and the entire African continent.

There are many tourists who visit the park, however only a few go as far as the wild and wonderful area of the marshes, where you can live a truly exclusive solitary experience.

AREAS OF THE PARK

between the river and the hill of Tarangire lies the most famous and beaten area of the park, with its gigantic baobabs and the richness of its wildlife.

the center of the Tarangire is the area of the marshes, wild and not to be missed especially for fans of birdwatching

Tarangire National Park is named after the river that flows through it. It is an often underrated park, although guests, in the dry season, one of the highest densities of wildlife in all of Africa. Around the pools, which are what remains of the river in the absence of rain, you can witness the spectacle of a small migration, which although not as majestic as that of the Serengeti, involves many more species of animals. Those who decide to spend at least one night in the park can, in the dry season, go down to the south, reaching the area of the marshes, along little-traveled paths, where to live the emotion of an exclusive experience in a luxuriantly wild nature.

The park is surrounded by protected areas, such as, north towards Lake Manyara, the Burunge WMA, where there is the homonymous salt lake, shimmering in the dry season, with the Rift Valley in the background.

In the vicinity of the park you can meet the traditional tribes of Mount Hanang. To the south, the unmissable cave paintings of Kondoa are worth a visit.

Entry to the National Parks in Tanzania is allowed to licensed off-road vehicles of local tour operators with a valid license. The paths of the safaris are strictly bound to the trails. The strict regulation of parks has the laudable aim of safeguarding the inestimable natural heritage and supporting the local economy.
