Safari luxury Mahale 8 days: we offer a luxury Safari, in a dream lodge, 8 days (from Tuesday to Tuesday) with a first stop in Arusha at the National Park for an experience of walking safari and canoeing on Lake Momella. Four days will then be dedicated to the Mahale Mountains National Park: an experience in unspoilt nature open to those who wish to walk unusual paths. Birds, monkeys, chimpanzees, small predators and butterflies are the signs of a life that continues unchanged for millions of years.
Come with us for a truly extraordinary experience in an idyllic paradise where the mountains hide chimpanzee communities and whose slopes are white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters of Lake Tanganyika. The park is so isolated that it can happen to be the only visitors present!
We staff will be available for any need from your arrival at the airport to your departure.

Day 1 - Transfer from Kilimanjaro Airport, reception, excursions in the area and overnight in Arusha
Arrival at the JRO airport where you will find our staff to welcome you; we will move to the hotel near the city and after a well-deserved rest, if there was time available, we will accompany you in visiting the city and the market of Arusha. We’ll go back to the hotel for dinner.

Day 2 - Safari by car, on foot and by boat in Arusha National Park - overnight in Arusha
After breakfast at the hotel we will leave for the safari at the National Park of Arusha, the only park where we will have the opportunity to have a safari on foot accompanied by an armed ranger that will safely allow us to approach a few meters from the animals in freedom. After the picnic on the shores of a pond, there will be the opportunity to make a canoe safari: an experience that will allow you to look at the African environment from another perspective, in a fun way. Then we will return to Arusha for dinner.

Day 3 - Departure from the Arusha Airstrip to Mahale NP - overnight in Mahale-Lake Tanganyika
Early in the morning the plane for the Mahale airport awaits you on the runway of Arusha airport. After another boat transfer (Dhow) you will reach the park and have lunch at the lodge. If you have time in the afternoon there will be a first approach with tracking in the Mahale. Overnight and dinner at the lodge in the park, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.

Day 4 - Safari and birdwatching in Mahale National Park - overnight in the park
When you wake up you will discover the wonders of the park but above all you will do the day trip in search of chimpanzees and return for lunch at the lodge. The afternoon is free, you can relax with an aperitif around the fire before dinner. Dinner and overnight in the park.

Day 5 - Walking safari in search of chimpanzees - overnight in the park
After breakfast you will do the tracking activity to discover the chimpanzees but not only: the park hosts many other animals and a rich variety of birds, and you will return to the lodge for a hot lunch. The afternoon is free with the possibility of a kayak trip on Lake Tanganyika. Aperitif and dinner at the overnight in the park.

Day 6 - Walking safari in search of chimpanzees - overnight in the park
After breakfast activities will resume as the previous day, always looking for exciting encounters. We’ll go back to the lodge for a hot lunch. In the afternoon you can venture by boat to discover the shores of Lake Tanganyika (with the possibility of seeing hippopotamuses or visiting a fishing village). Aperitif and dinner at the overnight in the park.

Day 7 - Return to Arusha - overnight in Arusha
In the morning you will start the day of transfer and return to Arusha: first you will leave the park by boat and then reach the Mahale airport by flight in the afternoon to Arusha. Overnight and dinner (not included) at the lodge in Arusha.

Day 8 - Morning in and around Arusha - transfer to airport or departure by sea extension
For the last day the activities depend on the time of your flight, but we will try to dedicate the morning to the visit of Arusha and its surroundings and then head to the international airport of Kilimanjaro for the return or for the sea extension.
